Lyn, Ontario – Dive Ontario was able to interview Nathan Marshall from the Forest City Diving Club.

Nathan had a desire to try diving after he watched divers at his pool when he had swimming lessons; he thought it looked like more fun. Nathan shares a bit about what diving means to him and why he enjoys the sport.

Q: At what age did you begin to dive?

I started in LTD at the age of 7 years old.

Q: What does diving mean to you?

It’s all about commitment and hard work. You can use those 2 skills forever in life.

Q: Why did you start diving?

Watching the divers at the pool when I had swimming lessons; it looked like more fun.

Q: What keeps you motivated?

Keeping in shape for my University.

Q: Favourite dive?

Q: What is your greatest diving accomplishment?

Never missing Nationals and getting a full scholarship.

Q: Do you play other sports?

I am a goalie in hockey and I play soccer for the cardio.

Q: What is your favourite memory from diving?

Getting my first “Bravo” from my first coach, Ioana.
